About PsyOps

First member of community, first post and it is my birthday! I am so cool. I was excited to see a community like this. Actually I was thinking about making one like this myself, but I guess whoever made this beat me to it. It's all good though. Okay well, I think the Nick Berg beheading was definitely a PsyOps at first I totally believed the story, but then I started looking around online and then I watched the video again and well, I don't believe all this bullshit and I cannot believe there are some people out there so blind to think that it was the iraqis. Anyways I will bring forward more of my thoughts later, but I gotta get to bed. Goodnite all!

Hi, I'm a US soldier, I'm actually in Psychological operations and I just wanted to make a comment on your remark. I do propaganda analysis and have gone over the Nick Berg incident with my interpreter and if that is fake it is the best done propaganda ever. The language used, the message they are sending, it's all unfortunately the mindset among a very small minority here in Iraq. You are right, the tape is not Iraqis, it's a Syrian terrorist who like many others from surrounding nations have come to Iraq to destabilize the country. The funny thing is that the local arab media seems to be the only media covering Iraq without bias. Most of the local papers recognize that media outlets like Al-Jazeera and Al-Arabia are flooding their reports with anti-american propaganda. I have read dozens of arguments that say "where was the "Arab" media when Saddam was brutalizing Iraqis and Arabs of surrounding countries? They recognize what went on in the prisons at the hands of some American soldiers, but they also recognize that we as Americans won't stand for such actions, that we will hold ourselves to a higher standard and try to ensure it doesn't happen in the future. When did Saddam ever appologize or try to correct himself? On another note, the majority of the resistance in Iraq is non-Iraqi. Why? Because the countries surrounding Iraq want to see an unstable Iraq, a strong Iraq is bad for it's neighbors. Hope you don't mind my rant, it's just my opinion here. And by the way, I was against coming here under the "reasons" given by Bush, but in the time i've been here i've seen numerous families show their gratitude for us removing Saddam and his regime. I hope Bush gets voted out this fall. Again, i'm not trying to discredit your remark, just trying to spark a debate. Let me know what you think.

The first private psy-ops company to go public - although they've existed at least ten years - are Strategic Communications Laboratories, who exhibited at the DSEi arms fair in London this year. They now have a website at http://www.scl.cc
